Wellness Care
I couldn't have got through some of the things without the treatments and the fact that I haven't had a migraine since early June means it is life changing. You're all amazing with your treatments and I would like to wish you all lots of luck with everything you do.”
Lesley is right up there with the best. I cannot recommend her and Manyweathers Clinic highly enough. Pain-free improvements, what’s not to love! Many many thanks!"
She is our go-to person. I like, trust, and listen to her. She is very considerate, even when she must perform an uncomfortable treatment. Although I imagine her work is physically, mentally, and emotionally tiring, she has always shown the same calm, attentive, and caring approach. I cannot imagine being without Lesley as a safety net and enhancement to my wellbeing now, and as my life continues."
I feel like myself again and am no longer struggling with pain or migraines! Your warm approach and extensive knowledge made me feel at ease during every appointment. I will definitely be recommending you in future.”
ST, Bedfordshire
“Before I visited Lesley, I thought my busy life was over. All the Doctors’ could give me were stronger and stronger painkillers. I couldn’t stand for any length of time or walk very far. I even had to have special assistance at the airport. After three sessions with Lesley, my life was so much better. I now only need to visit her every three months for ‘maintenance’. I can now go for long walks and shopping is once again a pleasure."
Chiropractic is a primary health care profession focused on your health and wellbeing.
“Chiropractic is a Primary Health profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, and the effects of these disorders on the function of the nervous system and general health. There is an emphasis on manual treatments including spinal adjustment and other joint and soft-tissue manipulation”.
The World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC)
Chiropractors are committed, highly qualified, regulated, primary health care professionals, focused on helping you to be as active and healthy as possible. They assess, diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions, such as back, neck, shoulder and joint pain, minor sports injuries and sciatica.
Chiropractic treatment can be beneficial for a number of reasons; relieving symptoms of pain and discomfort, improving mobility and reducing disability associated with muscle and joint problems.
Before starting treatment, a Chiropractor will assess your symptoms to determine if Chiropractic treatment is right for you and your condition, and what techniques are most likely to help. Chiropractors are trained to recognise when Chiropractic treatment will not help a medical condition and if necessary, will make a referral to your General Practitioner or another healthcare professional as long as they have your permission to do so.
Chiropractic students in the UK study for four to five years to gain their Integrated Masters in Chiropractic (MChiro) degree. In the United Kingdom, Chiropractors are Statutorily Regulated by the General Chiropractic Council (GCC)
Chiropractors are trained to use a range of techniques when treating their patients and practice a drug-free, non-surgical, hands-on approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis and treatment. They are best known for using manual methods of care, including spinal and joint manipulation (also referred to as ‘adjustment’) and may also use other hands-on or instrument-assisted approaches.
By offering expert spinal and peripheral joint health care, providing lifestyle advice and exercises, they can help you to lead a healthy life and maintain wellbeing. This may also include dietary and nutritional advice as well as strategies to manage stress and discomfort.
An underlying principle of Chiropractic is that a healthy spine facilitates a healthy life.
The McTimoney approach to Chiropractic was developed by the late John McTimoney over 50 years ago and is taught only at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic in Abingdon, near Oxford. It is well known for being a precise, whole body approach to chiropractic care. The gentle nature of McTimoney Chiropractic makes it suitable for people throughout their lifetime from babies to those in later life and is extremely safe and comfortable to receive.
Chiropractors focus on the spine and the neuro-musculoskeletal system and how conditions affecting these areas can affect your health and performance. Chiropractors are trained to assess the neuro-musculoskeletal system and identify restrictions, imbalances and dysfunction.
Manyweathers Chiropractic Clinic’s package of care involves spinal, pelvic and peripheral joint assessment, adjustment and mobilisations using the McTimoney Chiropractic method, together with the application of soft tissue treatments, advice on exercise, self-help, diet and lifestyle where appropriate.
Chiropractic care may be used regularly to help maintain good posture, promote health and improve performance, no matter what it is you do, from a high-performance athlete to a senior member of the community enjoying a potter in the garden. Patients undergoing Chiropractic care often report benefits from:
Ankle sprain (short term management)
Back Pain
Cramp
Elbow pain and tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) arising from associated musculoskeletal conditions of the back and neck, but not isolated occurrences
Headache arising from the neck (cervicogenic)
Inability to relax
Joint pains including hip and knee pain from osteoarthritis as an adjunct to core OA treatments and exercise
Generalised aches and pains
Lumbago
Mechanical neck pain (as opposed to neck pain following injury i.e. whiplash)
Migraine prevention
Minor sports injuries and tensions
Muscle spasms
Plantar fasciitis (short term management)
Rotator cuff injuries, disease or disorders
Sciatica
Shoulder complaints (dysfunction, disorders and pain)
Soft tissue disorders of the shoulder
McTimoney Chiropractic has helped thousands of people for over 50 years and around 150,000 new patients consult a member of the McTimoney Chiropractic Association (MCA) each year. Over 8,000 people are cared for by MCA members each working day.
UK members of the MCA are registered with the General Chiropractic Council.
Your first session will include analysing your medical history, including any medication (please bring details with you), we will then carry out some orthopaedic and neurological tests and from this will make a diagnosis. If you are happy with our explanation and diagnosis, we will then treat you. Please allow between 60-90 minutes for your initial consultation and treatment and up to 30 minutes for follow ups.
We would usually treat you dressed down to your underwear, however if you would prefer, please wear something comfortable to be treated in such as shorts/leggings/tracksuit bottoms and a tea shirt/vest top but please avoid jeans if you can.
On average you will need between three to six sessions depending on how long you have had the condition or how complicated it is, initially at weekly intervals. However this is unique to each individual and some conditions may require more or less appointments. Your practitioner will discuss this with you at your appointment.

Dr Lesley Manyweathers BSc(Hons)Chiro MMCA LRCC GCFP
Clinic Director, Principal Registered Chiropractor, Movement Mentor, Feldenkrais Practitioner, Founder Effortless Movement
(GCC No 03098)
Lesley qualified as a Dr of Chiropractic in 2008, and has grown her private practice into a multidisciplinary wellness centre helping thousands of people across Bedfordshire, throughout the UK and globally free themselves from life limiting pain and regain their functional ability. Patients travel to see her from Australia, New Zealand, America, India, Asia and Europe for hands on treatment as well as working with them online.
Lesley is registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC) and uses the McTimoney Chiropractic method, a gentle safe Chiropractic technique suitable for small babies to elderly osteoporotic women. This technique addresses the balance of the whole body, adjusting bones and joint complexes individually to bring the musculoskeletal system back into balance reducing irritation on the nervous system resulting in optimising normal function.
Within her treatment Lesley uses additional techniques to enhance patient outcomes, two of the most important are:
Myofascial Release (MFR) which works on addressing the holding patterns of the fascia, a connective tissue system when out of balance can hold the body like a straitjacket. By addressing these holding patterns, it releases the structure to allow freedom of movement and encourage normal function.
The Feldenkrais Method a movement education system which works with the neuroplastic ability of the brain, to restore neurological pathways that through injury, illness, operations and postural habits the body has either forgotten and rerouted to a compensatory pattern of movement or has never discovered through exploration and functional development as a baby. This is an incredibly powerful educational method helping the body to find effortless freedom in everyday activities as well as enhancing elite performance whether that be sport or the performing arts.
It is this method that inspired Lesley to develop Effortless Movement, a platform where Lesley teaches group online and in person Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement classes, to support your journey through life.
Alongside these important techniques Lesley offers postural advice, considers gait and locomotion and works closely her therapists; Sports Therapy, Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Acupuncture to formulate a unique plan to restore optimal function based on each patient’s individual challenges.

“Sports Therapy is an aspect of healthcare that is specifically concerned with the prevention of injury and the rehabilitation of the patient back to optimum levels of functional, occupational and sports specific fitness, regardless of age and ability. It adopts the principles of sport and exercise sciences, incorporating a physiological and pathological process to prepare the participant for training, competition and where applicable, work.”
The Society of Sports Therapists
Working closely with patients requires expert technical knowledge and strong interpersonal skills. These include empathy, communication, and the ability to build trust.
In addition to hands-on therapy, patients are educated on injury prevention and healthy lifestyle habits, encouraging and empowering patients to take an active role in their recovery. Continuous learning and professional development are also important and actively encouraged.
Almost anyone in any age group can benefit from this form of treatment, whether you are an athlete striving for peak performance, recovering from an injury, or an individual seeking relief from muscle tension and daily stress. Sports Therapy is not restricted to just “sports people” who want to prevent or recover from injury, it is particularly useful for postoperative rehabilitation and general functional wellbeing.
Your therapist will take a detailed history, assess your symptoms, formulate and communicate a plan to address the issues and provide a treatment.
Sports Therapy involves skin on skin contact and will require you to dress down to your underwear.
All our Therapists are trained in techniques to preserve your modesty at all times. You may want to wear something comfortable such as a track suit/legging/shorts, t-shirt/vest top. Please avoid wearing jeans.

Traditional styles of acupuncture (TCM) utilise an understanding of health and illness that has developed for over 2000 years. This theoretical knowledge guides the diagnosis, selection of points and whether to use moxibustion or needles.
In traditional acupuncture there is no mind-body split. In other words, the physical, emotional and mental aspect of life are seen as interdependent.
The mind-body is seen as a system and understanding the relationship between the various parts is central to making a diagnosis and treatment plan. The focus is on the whole individual rather than a particular sign or symptom in isolation. In practice this means when treating headache, for example, an acupuncturist may wish to understand whether there are any problems with the digestion. If there are problems, this will change the diagnosis and result in the selection of different acupuncture points.
emotional and mental health
digestive complaints
musculoskeletal pain
endometriosis
fertility
menopause
insomnia
migraines/headaches
fatigue
You can visit your acupuncturist for all the same reasons you might go to a GP, as well as for general wellbeing and health maintenance. Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years and continues to grow in popularity and acceptance. There is also a growing body of scientific evidence showing the efficacy of acupuncture.
See the British Acupuncture Council website for more information including videos and research factsheets.
Gentle, Effective Acupuncture Treatment
During your treatment, your practitioner will use a range of diagnostic methods (including taking a full medical history and reading pulses) in order to design your individual treatment plan.
Acupuncture needles are very fine, about the width of two human hairs, so treatment is very gentle and relaxing. Sensations can range from a mild tingling to a dull ache on insertion. Sometimes needles are inserted and removed immediately, at other times they may be left in while you rest. Your treatment may also involve the use of 'moxibustion', a warming herb applied to acupuncture points.
How will I feel after Acupuncture?
People usually feel relaxed and calm. You may feel improvement straight away but everyone is different, and changes can emerge in the following days. Acupuncture is accumulative and improvements will generally increase and last longer with more sessions.
Is Acupuncture safe?
There have been several surveys which have shown that acupuncture is amongst the safest therapies in use in the UK today. Out of 86,000 recorded treatments carried out across two surveys, there were only 14 minor symptoms such as bruising and the effects were transient.

Before working as an Acupuncturist, Magdalena spent 16 years managing market research projects in the corporate world. Her acupuncture journey began when she first experienced the benefits of treatment during her pregnancy. She was amazed by the results this gentle approach had on her overall wellbeing. It shifted her entire outlook on how we can support our own health and resolve a wide range of conditions.
Fast forward a few years and the inkling to carry this ancient system of medicine and make impactful changes to people’s health made her transition to a new career.
Magdalena is a classically trained acupuncturist and her style of practice uses an integrative approach of Five Element Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) modalities. She loves working with people of all ages and doing the absolute best that she can for them through her diagnostic and treatment skills. Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle, specialised massage technique developed by Dr Emil Vodder and his wife, Estrid in the 1930’s. It focuses on stimulating the lymphatic system to facilitate the movement of lymph fluid, which is crucial for maintaining fluid balance, immune function and detoxification in the body.
MLD is distinct from traditional massage as it uses light pressure and specific strokes to encourage lymphatic flow without causing friction or increasing blood supply.
Benefits of Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Reduces Swelling: MLD is particularly effective for reducing swelling associated with lymphedema, post-surgery recovery and other conditions that cause fluid retention.
Promotes Relaxation: The gentle nature of MLD can help reduce stress and promote relaxation, making it a soothing experience for many patients
Enhances Immune Function: By facilitating lymphatic flow, MLD can support the immune system in removing toxins and waste products from the body.
Postoperative Rehabilitation: MLD can aid recovery after surgeries, particularly those involving lymph nodes.
Your first session will include taking a medical history, if you are taking any medication, please bring details with you. Please allow up to 70 minutes for your initial consultation and treatment and 60 minutes for follow ups.
We would usually treat you dressed down to your underwear or if you would prefer, please wear something comfortable to be treated in such as shorts and a vest top, however, please note that MLD is a direct skin contact treatment so we will need to expose the areas to be treated to apply the technique.
After any Aesthetic work we will need a gap of 48hrs before MLD can be done, if you are due to have any work done around this appointment please make sure there is a 48hr gap and rearrange appointments as necessary. Please also bear this in mind when scheduling future appointments.

"Through awareness, we can learn to move with astonishing lightness and freedom at almost any age." - Moshe Feldenkrais
The Feldenkrais Method is a form of somatic education that uses gentle movement and awareness to improve physical functioning and enhance overall well-being. Developed by Moshe Feldenkrais in the mid 20th century, it is designed to help individuals reconnect with their bodies and learn more efficient ways of moving.
It is based on principles of physics, biomechanics and an understanding of human development. The method emphasises the connection between movement, self-awareness and cognitive function, promoting a holistic approach to physical and mental health.
Using gentle awareness, the Feldenkrais Method helps you learn to make lasting changes in co-ordination, breathing and flexibility assisting you to move through life more easily. It has the potential to benefit us all in some way offering a more fluid, skilful, easy way of moving.
With guidance from a trained teacher, Feldenkrais can help with relief and recovery from pain, injuries and neurological issues. It can boost relaxation, resilience, attention and life-long vitality, promoting a sense of confidence and wellbeing.
Key Components
Awareness Through Movement: This involves group lessons where participants follow verbal instructions to explore various movements. The focus is on enhancing awareness of body sensations and movement patterns.
Functional Integration: This is a one-to-one approach where a practitioner guides the student through gentle touch and movement, helping them discover new ways to move and function.
Benefits
Improved Movement: Participants often experience increased flexibility, coordination and ease of movement which can alleviate pain and tension.
Enhanced Self Awareness: The method encourages individuals to become more aware of their habitual movement patterns and to explore alternatives that feel more comfortable and efficient.
Stress Reduction: Many students find that the Feldenkrais Method helps reduce stress and anxiety, contributing to overall mental well-being.
Neuroplasticity: The method leverages the brain’s ability to learn and adapt, promoting changes in movement and behaviour through guided practice.
Who does it benefit?
The Feldenkrais Method is used by a diverse range of individuals, including athletes, performers, those recovering from injuries, people who find challenges with every day functions of turning, lifting, reaching, bending, standing, walking, running, anyone who wants to improve their performance, to those who want to grow old gracefully with ease and flexibility.
It is often employed as a complementary approach to traditional therapies, helping people manage pain, improve performance and enhance their quality of life.
The Feldenkrais Method offers a unique approach to movement and self-awareness, fostering improvements in physical and mental health through gentle exploration and learning.
For more information and class/workshop bookings please visit Effortless Movement.
In a Feldenkrais Functional Integration (FI) session, a trained practitioner uses gentle, non-invasive touch and subtle movement cues to help you discover more efficient and comfortable ways to organize your body and movement. You will typically lie on a low, padded table or sit/stand in comfortable, loose clothing while the practitioner guides your body through a series of movements. The goal is not to "fix" or manipulate, but to create conditions for your nervous system to learn new, more optimal patterns, leading to increased ease, reduced pain, and improved function.
What to expect during the session?
One-on-One Attention:
FI is an individual lesson tailored to your specific needs, habits, and goals.
Gentle Touch and Movement:
The practitioner uses subtle touch and guided movements to communicate suggestions to your nervous system.
Comfortable Environment:
You will lie on a low table, often with props, or sit or stand, all in comfortable clothing.
Focus on Awareness:
The process involves discovering new sensations and internal connections, rather than forceful or invasive procedures.
No "Ideal Way":
The practitioner doesn't impose a certain way of moving but facilitates your personal discovery of new possibilities within your own comfortable range.
Pleasurable and Relaxing:
Students often describe the sensations as pleasurable, relaxing, and fascinating.
Assesses Your Habits:
They gently explore your movement to identify habitual patterns and unnecessary tension.
Provides Kinesthetic Cues:
Through their touch, they provide kinesthetic (sensory) cues to help you sense your body's current organization.
Suggests New Possibilities:
They guide you to explore different, more efficient ways of organizing your movements.
Facilitates Learning:
The practitioner creates the conditions for your nervous system to "recalibrate" and learn new movement patterns on its own.
Pain Reduction and Injury Prevention:
FI can help reduce pain, recover from injuries, and prevent future ones.
Improved Movement and Function:
You can expect improvements in balance, coordination, and overall ease of movement.
Lasting Change:
The lessons create lasting improvements in how you function in your daily life.
Enhanced Awareness:
You develop a deeper, non-judgmental awareness of your body and its movement.

Registered Chiropractor, Movement Mentor, Feldenkrais Practitioner
With her expert knowledge of Anatomy, Biomechanics and Neuroscience, Lesley has the perfect foundation to apply the principles of the Feldenkrais Method in an informed, educated way.
Having spent more than twenty years in body work with extensive experience dealing with pain daily as a Chiropractor, Lesley has exactly the right tools to help you discover the pain free, flexible life you want to live. While researching injury recovery Lesley discovered the Feldenkrais method and was astonished how it made her feel after attending an Awareness Through Movement lesson (ATM), she likens it to having a full body treatment without any interaction from a practitioner.
Lesley’s interest in the method was strengthened after each encounter feeling more space and freedom in her own body, to the point that she could see how this would hugely benefit her patients with their wellness journey and as a result decided to train to be a practitioner.
After four years of training Lesley qualified as a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner from the prestigious London 4 Training taught by Scott Clark and Elizabeth Beringer a first generation Feldenkrais Practitioner who trained under Moshe Feldenkrais himself.
Since then Lesley has been incorporating the principles of the Feldenkrais Method into her Chiropractic treatments, offering one to one Feldenkrais Functional Integration sessions in her Bedfordshire private practice and has been teaching Group Awareness Through Movement lessons both online and through live workshops.

Hearing loss is a common condition that can impact individuals of all ages. It can arise from various causes, such as aging, prolonged exposure to loud sounds, genetic factors, and certain health conditions.
Hearing loss can be gradual and difficult to notice. Often, it’s family or friends who first notice the signs.
If you or someone you care about experiences any of the following symptoms, it may be time to consider a hearing assessment:
Struggling to follow conversations, especially in noisy settings
Frequently asking others to repeat themselves
Turning up the volume on the TV, radio, or other devices to uncomfortable levels
Difficulty hearing on the phone
Experiencing tinnitus (ringing, buzzing, or hissing in the ears)
Missing important sounds, such as doorbells or alarms
Withdrawing from social situations due to hearing challenges
Regular hearing checks are an essential part of maintaining awareness of your hearing and ear health. Identifying hearing loss early can make a significant difference. Keep in mind, experiencing hearing loss doesn’t automatically mean you’ll need hearing aids. The type and cause of hearing loss play a key role in determining the appropriate treatment. In some cases, further referrals to other healthcare professionals may be recommended.
